Follow Your Path

It began with four words: “the road less traveled.”

The words that started the image

My client brought me the words “the road less traveled.” Behind them was the idea that the mountain is worth the climb: that a harder path can lead somewhere meaningful.

That gave me a feeling to work with, as well as a subject. The tattoo could speak about effort, hope and the journey toward something worth reaching.

From a feeling to a composition

You do not always need to begin with a finished visual idea. A phrase can open the door. So can a memory, a place or a feeling that has stayed with you.

The film follows this project through timelapse and real-time tattooing. It lets you see the distance between the first idea and the work it becomes.

Tell me your starting point

What are the words you keep coming back to? What would you want to remember when you look at the tattoo years from now?

Bring that part of the story to our conversation. I will help you explore how to give it shape, and where it can belong on your body.
