Only the inside of Lindsay’s bicep remained. By then, Odysseus, Athena and Hercules each had a place in her sleeve. The final image would decide how they belonged together.
An ending with something to say
I chose the Golden Fleece for the journey it carries: the pursuit, the sacrifice and the distance traveled. There is something moving about reaching for a destination and discovering how much the journey has changed you.
That idea gave this Greek mythology tattoo sleeve its final chapter. A project built around family, memory and endurance now had a way to bring those themes together.
The color was already leading us here
Some of the decisions that shaped this final section began months earlier. I was thinking about where colors would meet, how the eye would move around the arm and how each character would hold its presence within the whole.
The cooler, sculptural tones gradually lead into the warmth of the gold. That transition matters. It lets the final image feel connected to the work around it, even though the chapters were created at different times.
This is what I love about large compositions. A choice made in one area can give another area its purpose. The closer you look, the more those relationships reveal themselves.
Watch the sleeve come together
The film above follows the color realism process as I complete the inside bicep. Timelapse and moments of real time bring you closer to the decisions behind the finished work.
If you have followed Lindsay’s sleeve from the beginning, this is its ending. If you are meeting it here, start with Odysseus and follow the four chapters in order. Seeing where it began gives the final piece another layer.
For your own project, you can begin with the people, images or ideas you keep returning to. Those details give me somewhere personal to start. From there, we can discover what belongs together.
